Instead of the Customs Administration informing the public that the police in action prevented the smuggling of phones, which passed under their control, it is learned from the media. Namely a van full of expensive phones, that is, with packages weighing 1,200 kg was caught on the Petrovec – Skopje highway after it had already passed Customs, the main opposition party VMRO-DPMNE said on Thursday.

“Had it not been for the action of the police, 1,200 kg of expensive phones would have ended up on the black market.

There were 1,200 phones in the van, which, if they were to be sold only at a price of 500 to 1,000 euros, would fetch over half a million to one million euros. It is a serious crime, apparently legal in cooperation with the authorities. Did the Customs Administration enable the crime and is Stefan Bogoev, the SDS deputy leader, behind all this,” said the largest opposition party in a press release.
