The Macedonian government will soon spend 1.6 million euros to rent 45 new high-class cars with a volume of over 2,000 cubic meters. Such a decision caused protests and reactions in the public, especially since the people are facing economic uncertainty and lack of funds for basic needs, reports TV Telma.
Regarding the procurement of new leasing vehicles by the Government, Macedonian caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi says that this is not a novelty and that it is an established practice. According to him, leasing is cheaper than buying owned motor vehicles because, for the duration of the lease, either by time or per kilometer per vehicle, the warranty and maintenance is the responsibility of the service provider, not the claimant.
