The claims that the European Union does not want North Macedonia to become a member of the EU are not true, EU Ambassador David Geer said at the event that started NATO Days in the country on Wednesday, marking four years since North Macedonia’s NATO membership and 75 years since its formation.
“It is common to hear sirens saying that this country cannot join the European Union either because the Union does not want it inside or because it is not capable of being part of the EU. None of these claims are true. We want North Macedonia to be part of the EU. The path is practical and very easily achievable,” Geer underlined and added that the path of the EU is a path of prosperity, of strengthening democratic values and the rule of law.
