The Tetovo-Gostivar Diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archdiocese announced that unknown perpetrators broke into the “St. Athanasius” monastery property on the Tetovo Kale, and all the windows in the church were broken, causing serious material damage.
“”This is the time of the Great Lent when Christians are preparing for the Resurrection of Christ, and our fellow Muslims are fasting during Ramadan, so we believe that this should be a time for re-examination, maturation and awakening of humanity,” said the Tetovo-Gostivar Diocese.
This intrusion follows after a little more than a week ago, unknown perpetrators placed an Albanian flag on the dome of the church and an ONA (NLA) flag on a pole at the entrance to the Kale fortress.
