After several months of pre-investigation procedure, under the direction of a public prosecutor from the Specialized Department for the prosecution of crimes committed by persons with police powers and members of the prison police at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, an action was carried out on Monday by the Department for suppression of organized and serious crime at the Ministry of Interior, in which 17 officers were detained.
The public prosecutor in question issued an Order for the implementation of an investigative procedure against six persons, of whom there is a well-founded suspicion that during the month of October last year they committed the crime of enabling the escape of a prisoner pursuant to Article 372 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, while a person is suspected of aiding and abetting.
