Second day of resident doctors’ general strike

Private resident doctors continued their general strike today, which started Monday morning. Through a press release, they informed last night that the strike will continue on Tuesday as well, until the Ministry of Health, after today’s Government session, comes out with an official position on their demands, after which they will decide on further steps.

Among their demands are higher wages, re-introduction of free health insurance for all private interns, as well as the regulation of work status.

On Mondayafternoon, their representatives had a meeting with the Minister of Health IlirDemiri, Deputy Minister of Health MajaManoleva and Prof. Ana Daneva Markova, adviser to the prime minister on health issues, who was told that there will be information on Tuesday in written form about the request for an increase in compensation.
