Dostoinstvo delegation laid fresh flowers at the site of the Vejce ambush

A delegation of Dostoinstvo (Dignity) led by Stojanche Angelov Sunday morning laid a bouquet of fresh flowers and lit eight candles in honor and memory of the eight fallen defenders, killed in the bloody ambush near the village of Vejce 23 years ago.

On a Facebook post, Angelov said:

“May we never forget, may it never happen again!

Igor Kosteski (26) from Skopje,

Robert Petkovski (27) from Skopje,

Boban Trajkovski (28) from Kumanovo,

Mile Janevski (30) from Makedonska Kamenica,

Ilche ​​Stojanovski (24),

Kire Kostadinovski (24),

Boshko Najdovski (24) and

Marjan Bozhinovski (27),

all from Bitola.

Eternal glory to you, Macedonian heroes!”

On 28 April 2001, members of the “Wolves” army special unit and police officers – Robert Petkovski, Igor Kosteski, Mile Janevski, Boban Trajkovski, Marjan Bozhinovski, Ilche Stojanovski, Boshko Najdovski and Kire Kostadinovski – were killed when their vehicles were ambushed by members of the so-called National Liberation Army (NLA).
