“Provocation from Siljanovska” is the comment of some of the Greek media in the articles about the inauguration of the newly-elected President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova due to the use of the country’s old name Macedonia.
The media in Greece are reporting the speechof the state news agency ANA-MPA titled “North Macedonia: Gordana Siljanovska was sworn in as the president of the country, which she called “Macedonia”.
The article reads that “Siljanovska during the oath called the country “Macedonia”, despite the fact that the oath, which was read by the outgoing Parliament Speaker Jovan Mitreski calling on Siljanovska to repeat, the country was called North Macedonia”.
The Greek Ambassador to the country, Sophia Philippidou, left Parliament’s plenary hall where Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova’s inauguration was being held on Sunday in protest of the fact that Siljanovska-Davkova did not use the country’s constitutional name while being sworn in.
