Vatican and Rome to be Siljanovska Davkova’s first official destination as President

Vatican and Rome will be Gordana Siljanovska Davkova’s first official destinations as President, where she will head the state-church delegation for the Ss.Cyril and Methodius observances, informed the President’s Office.

On May 23, according to the protocol, the president will have an audience with the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, and then a meeting with the general secretary for relations with the Vatican states.

The celebration of the all-Slavic educators will be held on May 24th with a visit to the “St. Clement” basilica, where the tomb of St. Cyril is located, and then to the “Santa Maria Maggiore” basilica, where a wreath will be placed on the plaque with the dedication in the Macedonian language.

As part of her visit to Rome, the Macedonian president will also meet with her colleague Sergio Mattarella.
