Industrial production in April 2024 dropped by 1.2 percent compared to the same month in 2023, whereas in the January-April 2024 period it dropped by 2.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023, said the State Statistics Office (SSO) on Friday.
Viewed by sector, industrial production recorded a drop of 39.6 percent in the Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply sector, and an increase in the Mining and Quarrying sector of 0.3 percent and in the Manufacturing Industry of 4.7 percent.
The increase in the Manufacturing Industry sector is the result, above all, of the increased production in the departments: Production of food products, of beverages, of textiles, of paper and paper products, printing and production of recorded media (records), of chemicals and chemical products and another.
