Gashi says he read the oath in two languages for technical reasons, was not intentional

The newly elected Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, in an interview with RSE, rejects any wrongdoing that he violated a certain regulation by giving the solemn oath first in the Albanian language.

“”It was only a technical matter, I read the oath in both languages. It was due to technical reasons. It certainly wasn’t intentional. And yes, that is the work of the Parliament. Regardless, I don’t think we should pay attention to such things, but it is also a democratic right of every Member of Parliament and citizen to react if they think that some right has been violated,” Gashi said.
