VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski received the mandate to form a government from President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, which officially started the deadline for its formation.
During the constitution of the Parliament, the Parliament Speaker was elected with 76 votes in favor. This result and the ongoing negotiations give me the right, based on reason, to believe that the VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski has a serious opportunity to form a government, that is, to win 61 votes for his program and the composition of the government. That is why it is my honor and pleasure to believe with certainty that the step I am taking, entrusting Mickoski with a mandate to form a government, is a real legal and political step,” said President Siljanovska-Davkova.
According to the constitutional provisions, within 20 days from the day of receiving the mandate to the Parliament, the mandate holder submits a program and proposes the composition of the Government. The Parliament elects the Government with a majority of votes from the total number of MPs, that is, with the support of at least 61 votes in the 120-member Parliament.
