VMRO-DPMNE has decided to propose former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Zoran Stavreski as the next governor of the National Bank, sources told TV21.
The arguments to support former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski’s best man were his work experience at the World Bank and the management of the Ministry of Finance.
Stavreski would come to that position as an independent expert, since he is not a member of VMRO-DPMNE.
He was elected Minister of Finance in July 2009, after the dismissal of the then-Minister of Finance Trajko Slaveski.
