We completely reject the allegations of alleged violation of the Prespa Agreement by the key political figures in the country, and the obligations undertaken in accordance with the Constitution, says the Macedonian Government’s reaction to the position of Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, who complained in Brussels about the use of the name Macedonia.
“We emphasize that the country continues to respect the obligations assumed by the Prespa Agreement in all its aspects, including the use of the name “Macedonia” as well as the name “North Macedonia” in appropriate formats and occasions determined by the Agreement and the country’s Constitution. We stress that the undertaken obligations are a two-way street, and the obligations of neighboring Greece, which have not been fulfilled, should also be taken into account,” reads the government’s statement.
