250 people evacuated in Kichevo floods – 61 children, youngest one is 1 month old

The Macedonian Red Cross informs that their volunteers continue to be on the ground and actively provide assistance and support to those affected by the floods across the country.

They are distributing humanitarian aid, including accommodation, food, water, hot meals, mattresses, blankets and basic hygiene products in order to help families facing severe consequences from the weather disasters.

As a result of the Kichevo floods, a total of 250 people have been evacuated and taken care of in Kichevo.

“Of these, 61 are children – including one child aged 1 month, one aged 2 months, one aged 7 months and 58 children aged 2 to 10 years. Among the evacuees there are also 189 adults, of whom 102 are women and 87 are men, as well as 11 people with disabilities. A total of 362 households, or about 1,200 people, are affected by material damage. The “Hristo Uzunov” sports hall in Kichevo has been provided with temporary accommodation for the evacuees, where they are provided with basic living conditions, the Red Cross adds. The competent services and the Red Cross remain on the ground and continue with activities to assist and support the affected population.
