Mobile customs teams completed 271 seizures in 2025, with 5,500 cartons of cigarettes and 27.5 kilograms of hookah tobacco seized in 39 cases. 195.5 kilograms of drugs were seized in four cases, and 230,000 euros were seized in 14 cases. Over 39,000 pieces of medicine were also seized.
At the same time, significant progress has been made in protecting intellectual property rights, with over 112 thousand pieces of products with the signature of well-known trademarks seized in 39 cases.
Over 8,000 vehicle inspections have been carried out, with 28 criminal offenses prevented, as well as misdemeanors in which the determined evaded duties amounted to MKD 8 million.
Thirty requests for assistance were also processed, with the latest case involving the recovery of 10 kilograms of cocaine using a customs dog from the K9 unit.
The mobile customs teams also participated in three major international operations – Shield VI, Stop IV, and ARMSTRONG XI. These are international operations aimed at preventing illegal trade in counterfeit medicines and anabolic steroids and protecting intellectual property rights by preventing illegal trade in counterfeit goods, as well as preventing attempts at terrorism.
