The Crisis Management Center (CMC) informs about the flood situation in the country by 1:30 pm.
Tetovo and Polog region
As a result of the heavy rainfall in the northwestern region, the areas covered by Tetovo CMC and Gostivar CMC are experiencing a higher number of interventions due to floods and landslides.
Tetovo:
A retaining wall collapsed on a family house on street 146 was reported. The Tetovo Crisis Headquarters, a police team from the Tetovo Police and the municipal inspection services have been dispatched to the scene.
A landslide was recorded on the road to Popova Shapka, about 150 meters from the cable car. The landslide poses a risk to nearby residential buildings. A large landslide has been registered on Street 195, on the road from the village of Dzepchishte to the village of Dzermo. The road is impassable for an entire neighborhood. A landslide has also been reported on Prohor Pchinski Street. In the village of Vejce, a landslide has been reported over a house with existing earthquake damage.
In the Municipality of Zhelino, the Vardar River overflowed into the village of Strimnica, flooding five houses. Due to the configuration of the terrain, access for intervention is difficult.
In the Municipality of Tearce, flooded basements in the village of Tearce have been reported. The competent institutions have been notified. In the Municipality of Jegunovce, the local road from the village of Sirichino to the village of Jegunovce is flooded. The municipality has sent machinery and normalization of traffic is expected.
In Gostivar, the situation has stabilized after the cessation of precipitation. The rivers in the villages of Lakavica, Belovishte, Malo Turchane and Balindol have retreated to their beds. In the village of Forino, after the overflow of the Vardar River, the water has been withdrawn from the streets. About 200 houses have been flooded. The water is being pumped out by engaging services and the local population.
Kumanovo region
In the village of Opae (Lipkovo Municipality), agricultural land has been flooded after the overflow of the Slupchanska River. Part of the agricultural areas have also been flooded in the village of Orizare. In the village of Dobrošane, near the bridge to the village of Shupli Kamen, there was a pile of waste and a local overflow of arable land. There is currently no danger. In the settlement of Bedinje, a wooden bridge was washed away by the flooded river. The competent services have been notified.
Kichevo region
In Kichevo, the rainfall has stopped and the river levels have decreased. The situation in the city hospital has normalized. 250 people (62 families) have been evacuated, and food, water and necessary supplies are being delivered to them. The teams of PE Communal Hygiene and TPPE are pumping out water from the basements of the streets Prilepska, Pirinska, Prvi Maj and 29 Noemvri, as well as from homes along the Treska and Zajashka rivers. Agricultural areas along the riverbeds in the municipality have also been flooded.
Skopje Region
In Skopje, high water has been reported at the bridge in Jurumleri (border between the municipalities of Aerodrom and Gazi Baba), as well as a minimal overflow of the Vardar River near the village of Pakoshevo – Novo Selo, in the Municipality of Zelenikovo. There are no other reports so far.
