In the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, the total number of passengers transported in passenger road transport amounted to 9,348,000 and decreased by 5 percent compared to the first quarter of 2025.
According to data from the State Statistics Office (SSO), the number of passengers transported in urban transport dropped by 4.7 percent, in suburban transport by 8.8 percent, while there was an increase in intercity transport by 9.2 percent and international transport by 1.3 percent.
The total number of passenger kilometers in Q1 2026 is 248,568,000 and increased by 0.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In urban transport it decreased by 1.8 percent, in suburban transport by 8 percent, and in international transport by 0.4 percent, while in intercity transport it increased by 7.7 percent.
