The legal amendments to the Law on Traffic Safety came into force, which means no more penalty points.

“A police officer may remove a vehicle from traffic and temporarily confiscate the vehicle until the technical state of the vehicle is determined, but not longer than three working days. If a technical malfunction of the vehicle is determined, which refers to causing a lot of noise or in case the traffic license for the vehicle has expired for six months or more, the vehicle shall be confiscated for a period of 90 days,” read the adopted amendments.

The changes also increase the validity period of the driver’s license for persons older than 75 years of age. From now on they will have to renew their driving license every 5 years, not every 3 years as it was before. Electric scooters are also included in the law.
