Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski said Monday that a coordinated process for the evacuation of Macedonian nationals from several countries in the Middle East is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the week, emphasizing that the safety of citizens remains the top priority of the institutions.

FM Mucunski informed that the evacuation from Israel has been successfully carried out for all persons who expressed their willingness to leave the country by land. Five people were evacuated by government plane via Sharm el-Sheikh, while for six persons the diplomatic and consular missions in Tel Aviv and Cairo assisted in organizing their return by commercial flights.

Regarding the United Arab Emirates, the FM announced that a flight with 151 passengers, including foreign citizens, has already been carried out.

“Currently, around 430 Macedonian nationals are registered in this country, and two more flights are planned during this week,” Mucunski said.

Additionally, 162 people have been registered in Doha, of whom 89 have expressed readiness for evacuation, while 36 people have been registered in Kuwait, 15 in Bahrain, and 5 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Organized transport to Riyadh as a central collection point is planned for them, followed by a direct flight to Skopje.

“The dynamics are clear – by the middle of this week, all Macedonian nationals who have requested evacuation should be evacuated,” the Foreign Minister noted.
