Zaev has indebted Macedonia for additional 850 million euros in just two days. The country is barely surviving. Zaev issued a Eurobond of 700 million euros, for which he has to pay interest of 80 million, and on the domestic market he borrowed 70 million, a total of 850 million, reads the statement issued by VMRO-DPMNE.

The party points out that Zaev with this borrowing is saving himself from bankruptcy which was inevitable as a result of bad policies and inadequate crisis management.

“Debt with these borrowings will officially jump to more than seven billion euros, and 65 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). This borrowing is just for patching holes, and if there is no policy change, we will soon need new borrowing. The country will sink, there will be no money, and interest rates will go higher. Therefore, instead of patching holes, the state should focus on development,” reads the statement.
