Тhere is no need for further restrictions, since they would not produce any results because we are nearing the eighth week of the third wave. The hospital capacities for treatment of COVID-19 patients have been increased by 50 percent compared to last November but also the hospitalization requirements have risen, concluded Health Minister Venko Filipche, directors of COVID-19 centers and the Commission for Infectious Diseases at a meeting on Tuesday.

Epidemiologists said the virus is broadly spread across the country but there are beds available in all hospitals nationwide.

There is no interruption in the delivery of the therapy for patients. Epidemiological analyses have shown there is no need for further restrictions, since they would not produce any results because we are at the end of the activity of the respiratory virus, i.e. 6-8 weeks of the third wave. It adds that the situation is continually monitored and actions will be undertaken if necessary, whereas the Commission for Infectious Diseases will hold a meeting in the course of the week.
