New fuel prices on Monday – Government to adopt measures to mitigate price shock

As of March 18, fuel at OKTA, Pucko Petrol, Makpetrol and Lukoil gas stations is available for two MKD less than the price set by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The fuel price reduction comes after an agreement on discounted prices was reached with OKTA, and supply has now started with fuel priced at two MKD lower

The Macedonian Government keeps close watch on global oil price fluctuations and is announcing a session for Sunday at noon to come out with measures to ease the impact of soaring fuel prices.

“Global oil prices are surging, which is expected to further affect the domestic price of fuels. Although gas stations in the country have by far the lowest fuel prices compared to the region, further increase in diesel and gasoline prices is expected on Monday. Therefore, the Government will hold a session tomorrow at 12:00 to adopt emergency measures to tackle price spikes and mitigate soaring fuel prices,” the Government said in a press release Saturday.

As of March 18, fuel at OKTA, Pucko Petrol, Makpetrol and Lukoil gas stations is available for two MKD less than the price set by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The fuel price reduction comes after an agreement on discounted prices was reached with OKTA, and supply has now started with fuel priced at two MKD lower.

Under the latest two ERC decisions over the fuel prices in the country, the price of diesel increased by MKD 21, while that of gasoline by MKD 12 per liter. Fuel prices are surging due to the developments in the Middle East.
