In terms of wages, I believe there is no room for any increases, and in terms of resources and tools, we can discuss not only with the Prosecutor’s Office, but also with the courts, said Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in response to a reporter’s question at a press conference Sunday, regarding the statement of the new Chief Public Prosecutor Nenad Saveski after officially assuming office, in which he saidthat the Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) needs financial resources to effectively fight crime.

“In terms of wages, I believe there is no room for increases, and in terms of resources and tools, of course, we can discuss, sit down not only with the Prosecutor’s Office, but also with the courts. As far as I know, based on the plan developed by the Judicial Council, 200 new jobs were approved for courts across the country, which is a really major leap,” said Mickoski.

The PM clarifies that this is not about judges, but about court associates and added that he does not remember the last time there was such a number of employments.

“We will continue to monitor this dynamics based on the plan and systematization, which they developed themselves, we simply did not interfere, nor did we have any suggestions as the Government,” said PM Mickoski.
