The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources informs that the measures taken by the Government, in combination with concrete steps by economic operators, are yielding results – fuel prices have stabilized, and price pressure has been significantly eased.

Macedonian Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska said OKTA has further increased the diesel fuel discount from MKD 2 to MKD 3 per liter, i.e. it has implemented a further price drop of MKD 1, extending the measure through April 6. Minister Bozhinovska noted that this was a concrete result of the partnership approach and ongoing coordination, with the aim of direct benefits for citizens and the economy. She added that the measures taken by the Government, including lowering fuel VAT from 18 to 10 percent, together with concrete steps by economic operators, give results as fuel prices have stabilized and price pressure has been significantly eased.

The minister notes that this step comes as a result of continuous communication and coordination between the Ministry and companies, with a clear goal – to transfer part of the relief directly to citizens and the economy. This is confirmation that the active role of the state produces results and that through partnership with companies, concrete benefits can be provided for citizens and the economy.

“Furthermore, a key role in stabilizing prices is also played by the Government’s measure to slash VAT on fuels from 18% down to 10%, which provided a direct price reduction of MKD 6 to MKD 7 per liter and prevented an additional price shock,” said Bozhinovska.
