A postage stamp “Kedev – 14 Highest Peaks” was issued by the Macedonian Post – Skopje, in honor of the supreme feat of Doctor Sashko Kedev. The postage stamp will be promoted on April 2 at 1:00 p.m. in Skopje.

Dr. Sashko Kedev, a renowned Macedonian cardiologist and a top mountaineer, climbed the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest, on May 19, 2009. In doing so, he became the third Macedonian to have conquered the highest peak in the world. He has climbed the peaks of Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Weisshorn, etc.

On July 20, 2025, the Macedonian mountaineer and cardiologist made history – he climbed the Gasherbrum I peak (8,080 m) in Pakistan and became the first Macedonian and the only one in the wider region to have conquered all 14 peaks higher than 8,000 meters, as well as the highest mountains on all seven continents. The expedition to the Gasherbrum I (G1) peak was led by “Imagine Nepal”, and the team, together with Kedev, also included Wang Zhong from China, as well as the Nepalese mountaineers Dawa Gyalje Sherpa and Ngima Nuru Sherpa.

Dr. Kedev’s G1 peak marks the completion of all 14 eight-thousanders – a historic first for Macedonia, “Imagine Nepal” said at the time.

With this climb, Dr. Kedev became part of the world’s mountaineering elite. He has so far conquered Everest (8,848 m), K2 (8,611 m), Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Nanga Parbat, Annapurna, Shishapangma, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum II and the most recent Gasherbrum I. In addition to the 14 “eight-thousanders”, Kedev has previously climbed the highest peaks on all seven continents – a feat known as the Seven Summits. Last year, Kedev was awarded the ‘September 8’ Order by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova for his special merits in medicine, not only at home, but also in the European and global frameworks, as well as for his historic feat in mountaineering as the first Macedonian to climb the 14 world mountain peaks over 8,000 meters high.
