Minister of Justice Bojan Marichikj believes that all citizens should take part in the upcoming population census because the country already has most of the data through the various registers of the institutions.

Citizens who refuse to participate in the census will be fined.

“What we need is verification of that data to get a complete, true and realistic picture. Of course, there are misdemeanor measures, i.e. fines for those who would refuse enumerators, but we as an institution and as a Government do not want to resort to those methods at all. We want to motivate them and that is why we are doing this campaign, and we publicly call on the citizens to participate, because there is no interest in not participating,” Marichikj said.
