Jammed motorway and damages that could exceed a mindboggling EUR 150 million. The arbitrariness of a dozen owners of luxury haciendas with gardens and swimming pools in the village of Oreovec is making it difficult to build Corridor X-d from Prilep to Bitola.
Drone footage showing multi-story houses with manicured lawns, gazebos, and fountains shows that these are not ordinary villagers and ordinary properties.
These people have been preventing access to the state-owned quarry from which the construction material is to be extracted for almost two years. They claim to be concerned about the environment, although all analyses and controls say otherwise.
Inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology and the Municipality of Prilep have been on the ground and have not found any irregularities.
The fact is that if this loan is not used, there will be practically no construction of the Prilep – Bitola motorway.
