Two years since the first registered case of COVID-19 in Macedonia

Two years after the first case of COVID-19 was registered in the country. Today, the total number of coronavirus cases diagnosed in the country is 296,229. 8,981 live were lost in the fight against the virus, and the number of active cases stands at 4,644.

According to data from the Institute of Public Health, in the last 24 hours, 517 new cases were registered out of 2,669 tests performed. Nine people have died and 1,022 patients recovered.

The Municipality of Dojran was the first to write down ‘zero’ in the column of cases from the 35 municipalities for which daily records of coronavirus status are kept in the country, making Dojran currently the only municipality in which there are no more active patients of the coronavirus in the current wave, in which the dominant is the Omicron variant.
