Exactly two years ago, we achieved one of our strategic goals set since the country’s independence – full membership in NATO, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski wrote Sunday on Facebook.
According to Kovachevski, being part of NATO means meeting all civilization standards.
“Two years later, in the midst of the greatest military and economic crisis since World War II, we see the validity of this decision. In these uncertain times, when the whole world cares about the future and security, North Macedonia is part of the most powerful military-political alliance that guarantees our territorial integrity and security,” said Kovachevski.
Membership in the Alliance, as the PM states, is much more than guaranteed security and protection of our citizens.
“To be part of NATO means meeting all the standards of the civilized world such as the protection of human rights, solidarity between nations and the promotion of democracy. As a NATO member, we will continue to actively participate in all Alliance activities and build alliances with our partners. This commitment means long-term development for our country and a secure future for our children,” says Kovachevski.
