Between 2011 and 2019, 700 thousand of our fellow citizens left our country, or almost every fourth one left the country. Although that trend decreased during the COVID-19 period, unfortunately, it represents a serious problem, not only for public office holders and policy makers, but for the whole society, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi.
The five key reasons for this trend, according to him, come from distrust in institutions. Distrust in the sense of high corruption, great political instability was in the first place, and the others are a better standard of living, problems with education, problems with health, problems with perspective for children, these are things that probably because of the wrong policies for 30 years contributed to this.
