The Government should develop a strategic approach to the country to provide essential medicines to its citizens. We need leadership at the highest level and a strategy, to implement a process of revising and expanding the positive list in the shortest possible time, to prepare a legal framework for drug entry contracts, direct contracts with manufacturers due to easier access to new and expensive therapies.
These are part of the priority steps that the Government should take urgently, Andrej Senih with the Association for Support of People Living with HIV – “Together Stronger” – Skopje announced at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The Government should start building capacities and expertise for the assessment of health technologies, increase the allocation for health care from public funds and reduce the citizens’ “paying out of pocket”,” Senihadded.
