The MP group of VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition “Renewal of Macedonia” will submit a proposal for a law on weekends without VAT to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia today, MP Dafina Stojanoska from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE emphasized this in a press release on Tuesday.
“The prices of food products have increased by nearly 30% as of September, and for some products the increase exceeds 50%. Due to the high prices, the government collects huge funds from VAT and spends them on buying octopuses, steaks and gold utensils. With the proposed law by VMRO DPMNE, every weekend while the declared state of crisis lasts, that is until April 30, we request that it be a weekend without VAT for food products. The Government can and must give up several million euros that will significantly help the citizens to feed themselves,” says Stojanoska.
