The Macedonian Ministry of Interior has filed criminal charges against the former director of PE National Forests for abuse of official position and authority.
“The Delchevo External Criminal Affairs Office has filed criminal charges against V.G. (52) from Bitola with the Delchevo Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) due to the existence of grounds for suspicion of committing a criminal offense of abuse of official position and authority. The accused V.G., former director of the PE National Forests, abused his official position and authority by concluding and signing eight contracts for the purchase and sale of burnt wood with six legal entities in the period from 13.02.2023 to 07.05.2024, whereby in the contracts he referred to a price list for prices of wood assortments that was currently invalid and in which lower prices were stated than the valid price list,” the Ministry of Interior said in its report.
“In all eight concluded contracts for the purchase and sale of burnt wood assortments, prices were stated from a price list from 05.12.2014 and in which the prices were lower than the valid price list from 21.07.2022. All eight contracts were implemented, whereby the accused enabled six legal entities to acquire a property benefit of MKD 2,053,838, and that amount of damage was caused to the PE National Forests,” added the report.
