VMRO-DPMNE MP and EC member Antonio Miloshoski in an interview with TV Telma referred to the Bill on Amending the Electoral Code and pointed out that the proposed amendments aim to make the electoral process more efficient and called on the opposition not to obstruct the adoption of the legal solutions.
“The announcement that they plan to block the Draft Electoral Code is worrying. The Draft Electoral Code largely includes the incorporation of OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, these are recommendations that make the elections easier, more efficient for the SEC where the SDS has a president, and I believe that such recommendations and new norms do not deserve political blockade. If the SDS and DUI in the previous term frequently abused the so-called “European flag” fast-track procedure for laws that have nothing to do with the coordination of Macedonian legislation with the European one, I, as the president of the commission, do not intend to allow a law that does not come from that area to be abused under the European flag in order to pass it or avoid filibustering, let that be the responsibility of the opposition and their behavior,” said Miloshoski.
It is obvious that the SDS is making a decision regarding the Electoral Code because of the desire of the SDS president to protect himself or find an alibi from some next electoral defeat. Filipche is stepping back from the Electoral Code, from the working group only for the sake of his personal career, added Miloshoski.
