Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has condemned the incident in which two diplomatic vehicles parked in front of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje were set on fire, saying that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has detained the perpetrator.
“The Government strongly condemns this incident. The perpetrator has been detained and he is currently being questioned over his motives,” PM Mickoski told Alsat-M.
According to him, the person confessed to the crime, with more information to follow.
The PM says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) is in continued communication with the Bulgarian counterpart institution.
“I was briefed by the FM that he held a phone call with his Bulgarian colleague. Our position is clear – we strongly condemn the incident, the person has been detained in less than three hours, and institutions have demonstrated their efficiency,” said PM Mickoski.
