“Energy is not a privilege only of the state, but an opportunity for everyone. When implementing strategic facilities, in addition to classic lending, the possibility of establishing a joint-stock company model should also be considered, where citizens can be part of it and instead of buying real estate, they can invest their money in shares through which the construction will be financed,” Ristov pointed out.
“When we talk about the energy transition, there is also electrification, i.e. e-mobility in transport. All Western countries, but also all developed countries, are over 50% already with developed e-mobility, and we are only at 1% – this is an area that must be worked on, this is the future. As a regulator, we are starting to prepare regulations and provide a basis and dynamics for the development of this area,” said the ERC head.
Regarding carbon tax, Ristovstresses that the price of electricity is not competitive on the European market and is regionally limited. But the task needs to be completed and there should be a separation of producers from renewable sources and those from fossil fuels.
