Shtip University professor caught taking bribes from students

A professor at the University of Stip has been arrested for asking for and accepting cash from a student to take an exam with her, the Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) reported Tuesday.

On Monday (June 29, 2026) at 11.45 a.m. in Shtip, police officers from the StipPolice Department arrested the 39-year-old woman, identified in this case only by the initials T.A. from Stip, due to grounds for suspicion that she committed the crime of accepting a bribe. A week earlier, 26-year-old K.B. from Turkey, temporarily residing in Shtip, a student at the GoceDelchev University, reported that A.T. had asked him for EUR 300 to take an exam that he was going to take on Monday, the Ministry of Interior said in its report.

Measures were taken in coordination with theShtip-based Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) and K.B. were handed over three technically processed banknotes in denominations of EUR 100 each. Police officers arrested T.A. immediately after she received the cash. She is being held at a police station, the money has been confiscated and after the case is fully documented, appropriate charges will be filed against her.
