Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, at the invitation of Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, took part in “The EU and the Western Balkans: Resolving Unfinished Business Together” panel discussion at the Dubrovnik Forum 2026, focused on the EU prospects of the Western Balkans and the future of enlargement.

Speaking about European integration, Mucunski stressed that the country continues to deliver results in the implementation of reforms and remains fully aligned with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, which, as he pointed out, contributes beyond formal alignment.

Regarding bilateral relations with Bulgaria, the FM assessed that with the new legitimate government in Sofia there is an opportunity to discuss open issues, but also about the common European future.

In the final part of his address, FM Mucunski called on the European Union member states from Southeast Europe to even more actively support the European integration of the region, assessing that a joint effort is needed to take advantage of the current historical opportunity.

“There is a historical opportunity. It is up to us to recognize it and use it to move forward,” underscored Minister Mucunski.
