Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski did not confirm whether Dimitar Dimovski, who was indicted and acquitted in cases by the prosecution, will be appointed Secretary for Good Governance in the Government, after being asked about the information that he would take over this post in his Government.

“First, I never said who would be the one who would manage the good governance section. I said that, just as we will have a secretary who monitors the implementation of the Government’s program, we will also have a secretary for good governance. It will not be the same person,” said Mickoski.

Regarding Dimitar Dimovski, the PM indicated that he had already stated his position on him in the past and did not want to comment on him again.

“Dimitar Dimovski, as well as dozens and hundreds of people from the previous VMRO-DPMNE-led Government who were part of the political hunt of the criminal government led by SDSM and DUI, who used the SPO as a political tool, I have commented on him many times in the past and I will not comment again,” said Mickoski.

Dimovski is currently part of the Prime Minister’s cabinet as Secretary for Public Policy, Coordination and Monitoring of the Implementation of the Government’s Program.

His name has previously been mentioned as a defendant in the cases of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, as well as the SPO. In the “Spanish Steps” case, he was acquitted of the charge of abuse in the sale of state land on the Skopje square, while he was also accused in the “Toplik” case.
