The sacrifice of the defenders is not just part of the past, but a lasting reminder that peace, freedom and security have a price, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski said in a social media post on the 25th anniversary since the death of Macedonian defenders at LjubotenskiBachila.
“Today we mark 25 years since the tragic event at LjubotenskiBachila, a day when Macedonia remembers the eight Macedonian defenders who laid down their lives for the peace and security of their homeland. On August 10, 2001, when a mine was activated on the road to LjubotenskiBachila, members of the Army reserve lost their lives: Tome Badarovski, GoceChankulovski, BrankoJanev, TomislavNastevski, MarjanchoBoshkovski, IvicaZlatevski, Tome Dimovski and RadeJankovski. Today, with deep respect, we bow before their sacrifice and before their families, who have been carrying the pain of the loss of their loved ones for 25 years,” the PM noted in his post on Monday.
