On the 25th anniversary since the signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski says in a message that the agreement is part of the country’s recent history and the state’s political and institutional reality, adding that today, on the anniversary of its signing, it is important to look at this document with maturity, with respect for the different views that exist in society and, above all, with responsibility towards the future.
In his message, the PM notes that the Framework Agreement is part of recent history and the political and institutional reality of the state, but emphasized that different attitudes towards it should not be a reason for new divisions.

According to Mickoski, more than two decades later, the focus should be on functional institutions, equality before the law, quality education, better healthcare, economic development and creating conditions for young people to build their future at home.

“It is time for politics to deal less with what divides us, and much more with what we need to build together,” the PM stressed.

Mickoski adds that the state should be a society in which a person is valued according to knowledge, effort, honesty and contribution to the community, and not according to his origin.

At the end of the message, he called for building a stable and secure state in which diversity will be respected, but the common future will be stronger than anything that divides citizens.
