The installation of the new ATM system in M-NAV is of exceptional importance for a higher level of safety, security and efficiency in air traffic management, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said during a visit to M-NAV and the Skopje control tower Friday.

The significance is even greater if we consider the figures that there is an over 12 percent increase in the number of flights over the Macedonian sky in the first six months of 2026 compared to 2025.

“What I can say is that in 2026, in the first six months, we have 173,000 aircraft flying over Macedonian airspace. These are both those that land at our airports, but also those that fly over. Just for comparison, that is an increase of 12.2% compared to 2025, 23% compared to 2024 and 27% compared to 2023, and in July alone we have 42,000 flights over Macedonian airspace,” Deputy PM Nikoloski noted.
