A forest fire broke out near the Delchevo village of Bigla after a person burned tires in his yard and lost control of the fire, after which the fire spread to the nearby pine forest.
As stated by the Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) head Stojanche Angelov, immediately after the report, all available forces from Delchevo were mobilized, as well as firefighters and teams from neighboring fire departments.
“An irresponsible person was burning tires in his yard in the village of Bigla, which is a scattered village, meaning the houses are spread out on several hills. In doing so, the person lost control of the fire, after which the fire spread to the nearby forest. Currently, there is a large forest fire in a pine forest in Bigla. The mayor immediately engaged all available forces from Delchevo. Firefighters went to the field, and assistance was requested from neighboring fire departments,” said Angelov.
