Two Czech nationals, who were staying in Skopje, were arrested after they entered the Ilinden Army barracks without authorization and, according to the police’s suspicion, made sketches of military facilities and combat equipment.

The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) informs that the case occurred on September 4, when police officers from the Skopje PD in the Ilinden barracks arrested M.S. (26) and A.H. (25), both nationals of Czechia.

According to the Ministry of Interior, there are grounds for suspicion that they committed the crime under Article 350 of the Criminal Code, which refers to unauthorized entry into military facilities and making sketches or drawings of military facilities and combat equipment.

The police have not yet announced whether the two had permission to access the barracks, how they managed to enter the facility, or what exact sketches or recordings were found on them.

Also, there is currently no information about the reasons why they were in the military facility or their possible intentions.

The MoI says that measures are being taken to completely solve and document the case.
