The most positive event is the act of Macedonia’s independence itself, and the most negative is the change of the constitutional name, said Macedonian Minister of Interior PancheToshkovski, when asked to single out one event that he considers positive and one negative from Macedonia’s independence to the present day, on the occasion of tomorrow’s celebration of 35 years of independence.
“There are many events that we could include in both groups. Here, as one of the most positive ones, I would single out the independence of Macedonia. Finally, after many centuries, we have our own, independent and sovereign state, from 35 years ago onwards, not within the framework of a certain federation, not as part of a certain union, but exactly what a huge number of generations, many generations of our ancestors, wanted. For me personally, one of the darkest stains that will remain in my memory, and it is negative, is the forced change of the constitutional name. I would single that out as one of the darkest stains in recent Macedonian history,”Minister Toshkovskiin an interview with Kanal5 TV.
