A father and son were killed in a severe traffic accident Friday night, while their daughter and sister (18) sustained serious injuries. A head-on collision occurred with another car on a municipal road, leaving the young driver and his passenger from the other vehicle, which caused the accident, seriously injured as well.
A duty public prosecutor from the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO), an expert, and Ministry of Interior investigation teams inspected the scene of the severe accident on the Ilinden–Miladinovci municipal road, near the Brest police base, located within the Skopje International Airport complex, the Public Prosecutor’s Office informed.
The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when an Opel Corsa with Kumanovo license plates, driven by a 19-year-old resident of Kumanovo, collided head-on with a Hyundai i30 driven by a 51-year-old resident of Marino.
The driver of the Hyundai and his son (18) died at the scene, while the 18-year-old daughter and sister, who was in the car with them, sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the Corsa and his passenger, also 19 years old, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition. The public prosecutor has ordered autopsies for the two deceased individuals. Measures are being taken to determine the causes of the accident, the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office added.
