A police officer was struck, then grabbed by the arm and held tightly by a smuggler inside a moving vehicle on Saturday. After being released a short while later, he fell and sustained injuries.
According to the Skopje Police Department, a report was received Saturday afternoon stating that police officers had spotted a Volkswagen Transporter cargo vehicle with foreign license plates, loaded with various smuggled goods, traveling from the Blace border crossing towards Skopje. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued driving.
After the officers managed to stop the vehicle a short time later, and while they were attempting to detain the driver, another vehicle arrived; an individual exited it and physically assaulted one of the police officers. One of the individuals then grabbed the officer by the arm, and he was dragged by the vehicle driven by the other person, after which he was released and sustained injuries from the fall.
