That process is irreversible; the Government is not giving up on the idea of building data centers, the world and humanity are moving in that direction, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Monday in response to a reporter’s question regarding the announcement that the EU would halt funding for such centers in Western Balkan countries.
The PM affirms that the current government is fully committed to safeguarding the interests of the country and its citizens, in contrast to the retrograde political forces emerging from the political swamp.
“We are not giving up on the idea of building a national data center, because the world and humanity are moving in that direction, and this process is irreversible. The question is whether we, as a state, want to remain stuck in the 19th or 20th century alongside certain regressive political forces, or if we want to stride boldly into the future. I am speaking now not only as a politician but also as a professor and an engineer, and I tell the Macedonian public this: this Government is fully committed to the interests of the state and its citizens, those interests will absolutely not be jeopardized, and we are deeply concerned with the future of this country and its rapid economic development. Indeed, thanks to those data centers and that equipment, we were able to see today how much of this technology actually operates; without such data centers and artificial intelligence, a large portion of this equipment simply could not function. In fact, without those data centers and artificial intelligence, I would not be able to communicate with you in the way I am doing now,” PM Mickoski pointed out.
