In an interview with Kanal 5 TV and commenting on the exceptionally poor PISA test results, the leader of the main opposition party SDSM Venko Filipche confirmed that even his own students at the Faculty of Medicine are, to use his words, “illiterate.” He admits that the students he teaches know nothing.
“The children are illiterate on the PISA tests. Our children do not compare well with children from the region. I held an exam a month ago; the level of knowledge at the faculties is catastrophic. It is catastrophic. These are the people who are supposed to treat us in the future,” said Filipche.
With this statement, Professor Filipche demonstrated an inability to break out of the mold of a politician who criticizes everything in Macedonia; in doing so, he insulted the children and their parents, as well as all his fellow doctors and professors.
